Area Business Manager

Company: Sun King (Easy Buy Direct Sales)

Responsibilities:

  1. Hire & Retain Energy Officers:
    • Recruit, train, and manage a team of at least 40 Sun King Energy Officers in the assigned area.
    • Collaborate with local influencers to identify suitable talent for selling Sun King EasyBuy products.
    • Build a positive reputation for Sun King\’s mission in providing clean, affordable, and reliable energy.
  2. Training of Energy Officers:
    • Provide comprehensive training to Energy Officers covering sales, collections, product knowledge, technical aspects, inventory, and logistics.
    • Ensure Energy Officers are well-equipped and demonstrate professionalism and integrity in customer interactions.
  3. Role Clarity for Energy Officers:
    • Clearly define daily tasks, sales plans, routes, and targets for Energy Officers.
    • Provide pre-arranged sales routes and areas, enabling Energy Officers to sell Sun King products confidently.
  4. Daily Field Visits:
    • Conduct weekly in-person meetings or calls with each Energy Officer.
    • Resolve issues faced by Energy Officers and report to the Regional Business Manager weekly.
    • Participate in the first five sales of each Energy Officer in the area.
  5. Work with Energy Officers:
    • Conduct joint fieldwork and sales and collection training weekly.
    • Engage in night activations, market visits, and community interactions to drive group sales.
  6. Exceed Sales & Collections Targets:
    • Meet or exceed monthly sales and collection targets set by the Regional Business Manager.
    • Provide regular updates on sales, EO recruitments, and customer-related issues.
  7. Drive Robust Field Sales Processes:
    • Review collection progress daily and offer training for improved collections.
    • Profile customers and areas, ensure timely collection follow-ups, and handle repossessions if necessary.
  8. Resolve Customer Issues:
    • Provide excellent customer service, addressing product delivery, training, installation, and warranty concerns.
    • Work with Energy Officers to establish clear processes for resolving customer issues promptly.
  9. Review Meetings with Energy Officers:
    • Conduct weekly table meetings with Energy Officers, ensuring the presence of a Regional Business Manager.
    • Plan and organize meetings, recognize outstanding performers, and maintain high motivation levels.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from a recognized institution (preferably in sales and marketing; a degree is an added advantage).
  • At least three years of field sales experience, preferably in FMCG, Micro-Finance, or Telecom.
  • Passion for working with rural consumers and addressing their needs.
  • Process-oriented, able to work independently, and manage the assigned area.
  • Drive for the social mission of providing energy and employment to rural communities.
  • Good communication and team-building skills.
