Job Description
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-
• Providing guidance on Climate Change Greenhouse Gas Inventory policy implemented by both state and non-state actors.
• Preparing National G greenhouse Gas Inventory report to facilitate National Communication of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)
• Planning and implementing mitigation projects, programmes and activities across various sectors;
• Monitoring greenhouse gas emissions in compliance with the provisions of the Climate Change Act ,National Climate Change Action Plans and Nationally Determined Contributions;
• Monitoring, evaluating and preparing reports on the status of implementation of mitigation actions, plans, projects and programmes;
• Coordinating the preparation and management of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory;
• Coordinating technology development ,transfer and research required for mitigation across the different sectors;
• Mainstreaming climate change mitigation into national development planning processes; and
• Implementing relevant joint work programmes pertaining to climate change in other Conventions relevant to mitigation.
