Job Description

The Building Works Engineer is responsible for executing and supervising a wide range of building construction and maintenance activities. This includes both new construction and refurbishment projects across residential, commercial, or institutional buildings. The engineer ensures that works are carried out in line with design specifications, building codes, safety standards, and budget/time constraints.

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee building construction and maintenance projects.

  • Review technical drawings and specifications.

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.

  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and engineers.

  • Estimate costs and manage project budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

  • Supervise on-site work and resolve technical issues.

  • Maintain project documentation and progress reports.

  • Manage building systems maintenance schedules.

  • Promote sustainability and safety on-site.

 

Required skills

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project). Project management and site supervision experience. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
