Position Overview
BYU-Pathway Worldwide is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Social Media & Marketing
Specialist to support the promotional, engagement, and event coordination efforts of the
BYU-Pathway Global Education Center in Lagos. This entry-level role is ideal for students
pursuing a certificate or degree in communication, marketing, or related fields and offers
valuable hands-on experience in multimedia content creation, event planning, and
community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Content Creation & Storytelling
o Capture student testimonials and success stories through video and
photography
o Produce behind-the-scenes media of life at the Global Education Center
o Edit and organize content for use on digital and print platforms
• Social Media Engagement
o Manage and grow the local Global Education Center’s Facebook group
o Develop and schedule engaging posts to highlight center events and student
experiences
• Events & Activities
o Capture content at activities and events at the Global Education Center, and
use it to drive attendance at the center
• Media & Public Relations
o Collaborate with local media outlets to increase visibility for BYU-Pathway
Worldwide and the BYU-Pathway Global Education Center (must coordinate
with BYU-Pathway Communications)
• Outreach & Community Building
o Act as a friendly, welcoming presence for students and visitors
o Assist with creating a vibrant and inclusive environment at the center
Qualifications
Required:
• Currently enrolled in a communication, marketing, or related BYU-Pathway
Worldwide certificate/degree program
• Experience with professional or semi-professional photography and video
equipment
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms, especially Facebook and WhatsApp
• Friendly, proactive, and comfortable engaging with others in-person and online
• Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred:
• Familiarity with basic video and photo editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Canva,
Lightroom)
• Experience working with student groups and community organizations
Position Details
• Status: Part-time, Contracted
• Hours: Flexible (approximately 25 hours per week, based on need and availability)
• Start Date: January, 2026
