Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process approved purchase requests for construction sites and company departments.
- Source construction materials, equipment, tools, spare parts, consumables, and project-related services.
- Obtain and analyse supplier quotations, prepare price comparisons, and negotiate competitive prices, discounts, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare LPOs and ensure purchases comply with approved specifications, quantities, budgets, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Storekeepers, Finance, and site teams to confirm requirements and avoid duplicate purchases.
- Follow up orders and deliveries, including urgent site requirements, to ensure timely supply.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain reliable suppliers while continuously sourcing competitive alternatives.
- Monitor supplier performance, market prices, purchasing trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Verify invoices against quotations, LPOs, delivery notes, and goods/services received before submission to Finance.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, trackers, and project-specific purchasing files.
- Track procurement against project budgets and BOQs and report price discrepancies, delays, specification issues, and other procurement risks.
- Assist with supplier reconciliations, payment queries, reporting, and improvement of procurement systems and controls.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, accuracy, and professionalism in all procurement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in civil engineering, construction, contracting, road works, or building materials.
- Practical experience in construction procurement, supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, negotiation, LPOs, delivery documentation, and invoice verification.
- Good understanding of construction materials, technical specifications, quantities, BOQs, and project purchasing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement/ERP systems.

- Strong knowledge of construction procurement and market pricing.
- Excellent organisation, documentation, communication, and reporting skills.
- High attention to detail, integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, handle urgent requirements, and solve procurement challenges proactively.
Advantage: Candidates with direct procurement experience in civil engineering, road construction, building projects, contracting, or construction materials will be highly preferred.
