Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review civil, structural and modular building projects, including steel structures and prefabricated systems.

  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and design reports.

  • Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, building codes, safety and quality requirements.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, fabrication, procurement, construction, commissioning and project handover.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks and progress reporting.

  • Provide technical support, resolve engineering challenges and implement cost-effective design improvements.

  • Monitor project performance and recommend value engineering, material optimization and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Construction Engineering, or a related field.

  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in the applicable category.

  • At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience, including 2 years in design, project execution or site coordination.

  • Experience in structural design, project planning, budgeting and multidisciplinary team coordination.

  • Advanced AutoCAD skills and competence in structural analysis and engineering calculations.

  • Experience in modular construction, steel structures, prefabricated buildings or light-gauge steel systems is an added advantage.

  • Membership in IEK, professional engineer registration and a relevant master’s degree are desirable.
