The Chatham County Tax Commissioner’s Office has an opening for a Tax/Tag/Title Processor II. If you meet the minimum qualifications please apply.

Job Summary: Under general supervision, you will process tags and titles for individuals and dealerships. You will perform a variety of routine clerical tasks. Your customer service skills must be outstanding as you work with the public to issue motor vehicle tags, process title applications, and collect TAVT (Title Ad Valorem Tax). Your attention to detail and accuracy is essential as you perform data entry, handle cash transactions, and verify funds using calculators or computerized equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service, tax processing, or a related field, including clerical experience, cash handling, and use of automated systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute. Typing and clerical testing are required for selected candidates during the interview process.

Note: During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
