Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS
• Liaise with farmers and agents to monitor the bird’s performance.
• Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, dressing wounds, and performing
diagnostic surgery.
• Promote the health and wellness of animals by advising the farm management and clients about
sanitation measures, feeding, and general care.
• Communicate with bird owners to answer questions and educate them on situations and
treatment.
• Be available, if need be, during chick’s delivery days and liaise with the drivers to aid in the
coordinated delivery of chicks.
• Record actions by documenting and updating forms, reports, and animal records and reporting
diseases to the farm’s management.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary procedures, ethics, policies, and relevant statutes.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret them.
• Establish or carry out quarantine or testing procedures that combat the spread of diseases to
birds.

Required skills

• Excellent report-writing skills. A Degree or Diploma in Animal Health and Production, Animal Health Management, Animal Science, or a Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Sound clinical judgment and demonstrable ability to rapidly and accurately assess disease situations
