Job Description

The Role: • The successful candidate will lead teams of Sub-Editors to ensure that stories to be published in People Daily newspaper and the PD E-Paper are compelling, accurate and presented in grammatically correct language. • The selected candidate will generally be responsible for determining news space and display in People Daily. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: • Oversee the work of Sub-Editors, setting the highest editorial standards for them to follow. • Be complex and agile in thought to reinforce the dynamics of producing a quality and competitive free newspaper and monetising digital content. • Ensure all facts in stories are checked and that grammar, punctuation and spelling are correct. • Be the curator of the People Daily style, making sure it is strictly adhered to. • Manage a busy team, working at high velocity.

Required skills

Demonstrable ability in independent writing and editing Have experience working in digital publishing. Have the ability to work within tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
