Roles / Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and supervise construction and infrastructure projects (roads, buildings, drainage systems, etc.)
  • Prepare drawings, estimates, and technical reports
  • Ensure projects comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements
  • Supervise site activities and contractors to ensure quality work
  • Coordinate with architects, surveyors, and other professionals
  • Maintain project documentation and records
  • Ensure proper use of materials and resources
  • Implement environmental and sustainability considerations in projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Registration with a professional body (e.g., Engineers Board of Kenya) is an added advantage or requirement
  • Knowledge of engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Relevant work experience or internship in construction/engineering projects
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
