Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Storytelling

  • Support the development of high-quality content for EAMDA’s communication channels, including social media, website, newsletters, reports, blogs, and promotional materials.
  • Draft stories, success stories, case studies, beneficiary profiles, and impact narratives from programme activities.
  • Assist in documenting project milestones, field activities, stakeholder engagements, and learning events.
  • Support the production of multimedia content including videos, photography, infographics, podcasts, and short-form digital content.

Digital Communications & Social Media

  • Support the implementation of EAMDA’s digital communications and social media strategy.
  • Create and schedule content across social media platforms including LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging channels.
  • Monitor audience engagement and support online community management activities.
  • Assist in tracking social media performance and preparing periodic analytics reports.

Brand Management & Visibility

Events & Stakeholder Engagement

Media Monitoring & Knowledge Management

  • Monitor media coverage, industry developments, and emerging trends relevant to agriculture, agribusiness, and market systems development.
  • Support the compilation of media monitoring reports and communication metrics.
  • Assist in organizing communication resources, publications, and knowledge products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with programme teams to identify and document stories of impact and learning.
  • Support internal communication initiatives that promote staff engagement and organizational culture.
  • Perform other communication and branding-related assignments as required.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Communications/Journalism/Public Relations/Media Studies/Digital Communications
  • Marketing
  • Graphic Design
  • Development Communication
  • Or a related field

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated interest in communications, media, branding, or digital marketing.
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms.
  • Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent design tools.
  • Basic photography and videography skills.
  • Familiarity with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Knowledge of social media management tools is an added advantage.
  • Interest in agriculture, agribusiness, entrepreneurship, or international development is desirable.

  • Ability to translate technical information into engaging and audience-friendly content.
  • Ability to generate fresh ideas and communicate impact through compelling storytelling.
  • Strong proofreading, editing, and quality-control skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

  • Be recent graduates (within the last three years).
  • Be available for the full three-month internship period.

Organizational Information

  • This is a three-month internship position based in Nairobi.
  • Hybrid working arrangements may apply depending on assignments.
  • Occasional travel within Kenya may be required.
  • SPARK Associates will receive structured mentorship and professional development support.
  • A monthly internship stipend will be provided.
