Job Description
The Corporate Credit Analyst will analyze credit proposals from business units, make same-day credit decisions, recommend decisions to credit approvers, and escalate unusual or concerning issues to the Head of Corporate Credit Risk Analysis. The role includes keeping records, advising credit administration/business units promptly, staying updated on economic trends, documenting appraisal issues, and ensuring compliance with credit policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze credit proposals, make same-day decisions, and recommend to credit approvers.
- Escalate unusual or concerning issues to the Head – Corporate Credit Risk Analysis.
- Maintain up-to-date records and update trackers promptly.
- Advise Credit Administration Department/business units promptly.
- Stay abreast of economic, industry, and business trends for quality analysis.
- Document issues causing weak appraisals and train business units on credit analysis procedures.
- Ensure lending proposals adhere to credit policy and guidelines, escalating exceptions.
- Highlight necessary changes to the Bank’s credit policy and procedures.
- Provide timely responses to business units as per agreed SLAs.
- Adhere to all regulations, statutes, standards, practices, internal processes, and procedures.
- Address risk management requirements within the remit and escalate where necessary.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- University degree in a Business-Related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 5 years of banking experience in a credit-related function.
- Thorough knowledge of the Banking Act, the Bank’s credit policy, Prudential guidelines, Environmental and Social Risk Management, and lending guidelines.
- Credit and financial analytical skills.
- Ability to identify, analyze, condense, and articulate complicated ideas and findings briefly and clearly.
- Good knowledge of business trends and the business environment.
- General awareness of the Bank’s vision and focus, especially in relation to Business Development & management of risks.
