Job Description
The Officer in the Caring Hearts Employment Office shall be responsible for sourcing,
linking and securing internships and employment opportunities for Caring Hearts and
Hands of Hope Alumni/Graduates in Kenya and abroad. The Officer will liaise with key
employers in the Kenyan Economy and abroad to learn of opportunities as they
emerge and then link them to suitable candidates from their database.
The key duties and responsibilities of the Employment Officer shall be

i. Maintain an accurate qualification database of all Caring Hearts and Hands of
Hope graduates.
ii. Maintain a database of potential employers for the different categories of
graduates.
iii. Liaise with companies, parastatals, Public Service officials, NGOs, and
Ministries for internships, mentorships, and direct employment opportunities.
iv. Monitor job opportunities created in projects and programs in the region and
nationally.
v. Conduct regular research on industry trends and employment opportunities to
inform the Organization about the demands of the job market.
vi. Train the graduates on Cover letter writing, Curriculum Vitae and Insights and
positive habits for application of jobs and interviews.
vii. To develop and review the graduates Cover letters, CVs and Resume.
viii. Confirming terms and conditions of the jobs advertised by employers
ix. Organize career fairs, workshops, and networking events with potential
employers.
x. Develop and review career guidance guidelines and counselling materials for
jobseekers and provide one-on-one career guidance in order to enable
graduates identify their career goals and pathways.
xi. Maintain labour market information systems and disseminate it to jobseekers
xii. Develop and implement strategies that will assist graduates in securing
employment.
xiii. Identifying skill gaps in the graduates and recommending trainings for them
xiv. Matching candidate skills to identified opportunities
xv. Maintain an up to date knowledge on best practices in selection and
recruitment.
xvi. Carry out all the administrative functions of the employment office.
xvii. Train graduates on interview habits and what to expect in interviews.
xviii. Train those who get jobs on how they can advance in career, career planning
and investments
xix. To report to the Chairperson on the number of persons engaged every week
and the progress made in getting job opportunities or internships.
xx. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the established programs and make
adjustments as necessary to ensure they meet their objectives.
xxi. Keep necessary and accurate records of activities and interactions with
employers and potential employers
xxii. Document and publish success stories
xxiii. Develop accurate monthly and annual reports on the Achievements of the
Employment Office.
xxiv. Handling sensitive and confidential candidates information with high levels of
professionalism
xxv. Any other duty allocated by his seniors.
