Job Description

Key duties & responsibilities

The intern will support the following activities:

Mapping potential and optimal zones for forage production in East Africa.
Mapping of areas where rain fed rice is currently grown in East Africa.
Extract relevant climate data and soil properties for running the DSSAT perennial forage model.
Collate spatially explicit data on below- and above-ground carbon stocks in dryland.
Support the upgrade and maintenance of https://targetingtools.ciat.cgiar.org/ eSQeVGs BIpnb
Support any mapping tasks as required by team members within the tropical forages program.

Required skills

Ability to independently and within a team setting. Excellent writing and communication skills. Experience in GIS mapping. Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
