Internal Audit Officer

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Internal Audit Manager in developing and executing the internal audit strategy for the organization.
- Support in preparing the annual audit plan and audit budget.
- Execute audits and provide assurance on the effectiveness of Risk Management, Control & Governance processes.
- Deliver audits in line with set audit quality standards.
- Understand the risk profile of the business, gaining and applying extensive industry knowledge.
- Engage with business process owners to agree on audit deliverables and timeframes, issuing findings related to work done.
- Provide an independent opinion on the risk & control environment for various business processes.
- Follow up on the progress of implementing management actions.
- Review risk issues and changes/developments across relevant business areas and the external environment, advising on strategy and direction.
- Create and nurture relationships with management and other assurance providers.
- Provide clients with an understanding of internal audit expectations.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional qualification (CPA(K), ACCA, etc.).
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the internal audit function.
- Experience in the general insurance industry is an added advantage.
