Licensing Officer Job Grade: SEZA 6 Reference: SEZA/HR/2023/12/7

Job Description

As the entry grade for this cadre, the Licensing Officer at Job Grade SEZA 6 will operate under the guidance of an experienced officer. The duties and responsibilities for this role include:

(i) Application Processing: Receiving application forms from applicants for registration and licensing by the Authority.

(ii) Data Collection: Collecting and compiling data on applications for registration and licensing.

(iii) Register Management: Updating the registration and licensing register for Special Economic Zone developers, operators, and enterprises.

(iv) Report Preparation: Preparing draft reports on the registration and licensing of Special Economic Zone developers, operators, and enterprises.

Requirements for Appointment

To be appointed to this grade, candidates must meet the following requirements:

(i) Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Management/Administration, Public Policy, Laws, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

(ii) Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in computer applications.

(iii) Chapter Six Compliance: Fulfillment of the requirements outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates will be expected to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the

Constitution by providing valid originals of the following documents;

  1. Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;2
  2. Clearance/Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  3. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority;
  4. Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  5. Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
