Job Description
Main Duties
Managing, stabilizing and treating all patients’ minor ailments and emergencies
Assessing the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, examination and investigation
Admitting, discharging and referring to specialists as appropriate
Referring for diagnostic, therapeutic and support services as required
Undertaking clinical and minor procedures in the Accident & Emergency unit
Participating in hospital rounds including fixing cannula, fixing catheters, reviewing patients, etc
Ensuring that all patients coming to A&E department are attended to within reasonable time
Participating in the ambulance Services.
Preparing weekly work/activity plans for review by the Senior Medical Officer
Carrying out patient reviews and providing feedback to the respective consultants.
Monitoring closely morbidity and mortality trends together with all the other health indicators
Participating in primary health care through counseling and outreach programs.
Participating in continuous medical education programs
Carrying out other relevant or requested duties as may be required
Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
Any other duty assigned
