Project Overview – FamilEA:
- Objective: Map the shifting family landscape in Nairobi
- Focus on family networks within the city and the family archipelago (outside the city)
- Utilizes a mixed methods (quantitative-qualitative) approach
- Explores extended family and family-like relationships beyond households
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mobilize study participants based on predefined criteria
- Conduct quantitative in-person interviews
- Edit and submit data for cross-checking by the team leader
- Submit daily field reports/timesheets
- Attend scheduled training sessions and progress meetings
- Ensure safe handling of study tools and equipment
- Assist in other project-related activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate, minimum grade C Plain
- Fluency in Swahili and English (written and oral)
- Experience in electronic data collection methods (e.g., survey CTO, Open Data Kit – ODK)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Full-time commitment for the project’s duration
- Current resident of Nairobi
- Adherence to data collection protocols and guidelines
