Senior Data Analyst

Company: Tala

Location: Kenya

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and communicate the health of the country’s portfolio and recommend credit strategy changes.
  • Identify, test, and implement credit strategy, including approval/decline decisions, loan limit, pricing, and duration offerings.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and features for various customer segments.
  • Collaborate with other functional members of the country team for positive customer and business outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in lending or financial services analytics.
  • Ability to set and manage own agenda based on business priorities and relative impact.
  • 2-4 years of experience in analytical roles, with a track record of success in FinTech, consumer lending, consumer banking, or related industries.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL (required) and Python (preferred).
  • Ability to independently process and interpret vast amounts of data.
  • Ability to formulate recommendations using a combination of data, assumptions, and intuition.
  • Navigate the product life cycle from ideation to implementation.
  • Curiosity and understanding of the Tala loan product business model.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with distributed teams.
