Job Description
Job Purpose
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Chief Principal Nutrition and Dietetics
Officer in the provision of nutrition and dieteticsl services in the Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
Enforce key health and nutrition laws and related regulations.
Provide leadership for quality nutrition and dietetics services, training and research.
Strengthen governance and standards to improve patient care and safety.
Plan and coordinate long‑term and specialized nutrition and dietetics services.
Build partnerships with stakeholders to support specialized services.
Implement and uphold professional standards, ethics, policies and guidelines.
Promote research, innovation and technology use in nutrition and dietetics.
Ensure compliance with standards and maintain an updated database of assets, projects and intellectual property.
Oversee all hospital nutrition and dietetics activities, including strategic and annual work plans.
Set and monitor performance targets, contribute to budgeting and support cost control and revenue growth.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in a relevant nutrition/dietetics or food/nutrition field from a recognized institution.
Bachelor’s degree in a related nutrition/dietetics or food/nutrition discipline.
Leadership/management course of at least four weeks.
Registration and valid practicing certificate from the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute.
Computer literate.
At least 8 years relevant experience, including 3 years at Principal Nutrition and Dietetics Officer level or equivalent.
