Stakeholder Engagement & Evidence Specialist
Job Description
The role involves leading and supporting diverse projects and countries in uniting evidence and stakeholders through inclusive engagement processes for informed decision-making in natural resource management and sustainable development.
Responsibilities:
- Design and project manage strategic stakeholder engagement processes, including mapping and facilitating consultations.
- Run and enhance co-design processes using human-centered design methods.
- Co-design and facilitate workshops globally and at local and national levels.
- Oversee structured engagement and strategic relationship building with stakeholders.
- Explore and implement new engagement methods, incorporating cutting-edge pedagogy.
- Build capacity of engagement focal points, develop and deliver training materials.
- Liaise with other project staff for coordinated efforts on evidence needs and engagement.
- Design and implement research on stakeholder engagement with evidence, contributing to scientific writing and publications.
- Write and present to communicate work outputs and outcomes.
- Design contextually appropriate evidence or interventions for specific project cases.
- Analyze and synthesize evidence for project planning, targeting, monitoring, and policy influence.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Represent SPACIAL at meetings and SHARED events.
- Contribute to policy engagement and influence work.
- Support resource mobilization and funding proposals.
- Present/communicate SHARED to internal and external audiences.
- Contribute to Spatial Data Science & Applied Learning Lab (SPACIAL) team meetings.
- Contribute to the wider CIFOR-ICRAF community.
- Any other tasks related to the SPACIAL unit.
Requirements:
- Minimum Master’s degree in relevant field.
- At least 7 years’ experience in research/development projects in the global south, with expertise in stakeholder engagement.
- Policy engagement or policy impact work.
- Project development, management, and budgeting experience.
- Research synthesis for a policy or practice audience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilitating diverse spaces and contentious forums.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including scientific writing.
- Analytical approach and interest in data.
- Team-oriented values and proactivity.
- Initiative and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Human-centered design experience (desirable).
- French language proficiency (desirable).
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead pieces of work.
