Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Investor Sourcing and Capital Mobilisation

  • Develop and execute investor engagement and capital mobilisation strategies.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with impact investors, development finance institutions (DFIs), commercial banks, private equity and venture capital firms, family offices, foundations, and corporate investors.
  • Build and manage a robust investor pipeline and relationship management system.
  • Match investment-ready businesses with suitable financing opportunities.
  • Organise investor forums, pitch events, and investment roadshows.
  • Support fundraising and transaction execution from opportunity identification through financial close.

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities in sustainable finance, ESG, impact investing, and enterprise development.
  • Lead proposal development, technical bids, and partnership negotiations.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with donors, corporates, financial institutions, accelerators, incubators, and government agencies.
  • Expand the organisation’s investment advisory and technical assistance portfolio.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and networking forums.

Investment Advisory and Due Diligence

  • Conduct financial, commercial, operational, ESG, and impact due diligence.
  • Assess investment readiness and provide technical support to SMEs and portfolio companies.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, financial models, and investment committee papers.
  • Support investment structuring and risk assessment.

Impact and ESG

  • Develop impact measurement frameworks and ESG strategies.
  • Monitor financial, social, environmental, and climate outcomes across projects and investments.
  • Prepare impact reports for investors, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote responsible and sustainable investment practices.

Project Management

  • Lead the planning and delivery of investment and impact projects.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
  • Ensure successful implementation and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Development Finance, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in investment advisory, capital mobilisation, business development, impact investing, or sustainable finance.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging investors and mobilising capital for SMEs or investment funds.
  • Strong understanding of ESG, blended finance, and impact investment principles.
