Job Description

The Manager – Underground Mining purpose is to ensure the safe, efficient and cost controlled execution of the mine plan and schedule to exceed project deliverables and mine ramp up.  Tasked with the establishment of systems and processes for effective work planning & execution control and ensure that performance standards meet required standards – establish high performance operating culture.

Challenge and support Mining Planning and Technical design processes in ensuring mine plans, technical functions and schedules provide inputs to support safe and efficient mining operations.  Guide equipment selection and monitor performance and maintenance effectiveness of the entire underground workforce.  Seek early opportunities to introduce supporting new technologies to improve execution of works.

Required skills

Experience deploying and implementing technological mining systems such as automation of fleet, elec Minimum of 15 years of operational experience in underground metalliferous mining, including supervi Proven experience in implementing and sustaining best practice mining systems (e.g., Short Interval Proven track record of implementing change and improvements in a technologically advance underground University degree in mining engineering or recognized equivalent will be well regarded.
