Job Description
i. Teaching and assessing courses in nursing sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate
levels
ii. Evaluating students through continuous assessments and examinations
iii. Participating in curriculum and program reviews and development
iv. Providing Community-Based Education and Services (COBES)
v. Mentoring students in academic, spiritual, and social life
vi. Conducting quality research to enhance the scholarship, visibility, and intellectual contribution
of the University.
vii. Mobilizing resources and building bridges and partnerships with industry, academia, and
development partners.
viii. Implementing best practices in teaching, training, and research for improved performance and
achievements.
ix. Carry out administrative and other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the
supervisor from time to time.
Requirements.
Earned Ph.D. in Nursing Sciences from an accredited University,
i. Master’s in Nursing Sciences in addition to BSc in Nursing from an accredited university.
ii. At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level or in research/industry; and
iii. A minimum of 12research publication output points from Refereed scholarly journals and two
(2) points from publications in conference proceeds,
OR
a minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution,
OR
a minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice/industry.
iv. Evidence of active participation in school/departmental activities or demonstrated leadership in
university activities.
v. Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya and with a valid Practice License.
vi. Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
