i. Examining of the established stores units at School/departmental level to determine the quantities of
supplies held and their numerical relationship to bin cards, stock ledgers, computer printout of stock
levels and maximum and minimum stock levels;
ii. Apparent conditions of the supplies held; operating procedures and documents in use and their
conformity with the prescribed regulations.
iii. The stores catalogue, its contents and maintenance, specifically, work at this level will involve
advising schools and user departments of any irregularities in supplies procurement and management
found and the required remedial action;
iv. Supervision of supplies and stores staff and any other responsibilities that may be assigned to him
from time to time.
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
(i) A Bachelor’s Degree in the following disciplines; Business Administration, Economics,
Commerce (Supplies Management option) or its equivalent from a recognized University
(ii) Attended management course(s) lasting for reasonable period(s); and
(iii) Eight (8) years’ work experience.
(iv) Must be a registered member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
(v) A CIPS qualification
(vi) A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
