SENIOR LECTURER COMPUTER SCIENCE (GRADE 13)

Duties and responsibilities
A candidate needs to have the relevant undergraduate, Masters and PhD in Computer Science and
specialized in ANY of the following areas:
i. Software/Hardware Engineering
ii. Artificial Intelligence
iii. Mobile and Internet Computing
iv. Computer and Network Security

Requirements
For appointment to this position, one must have
a) A PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from are cognized/accredited
university
b) A cumulative or evidence of three (3) years of teaching/research experience at University
level since becoming Lecturer/Research Fellow
c) Research output points comprising at least twenty four (24) points from refereed scholarly
journals, six (6) points from postgraduate students’ supervision and two (2) points from
publications in conference proceedings since appointment to the position of Lecturer
d) Attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
e) Evidence of continued evaluated effective teaching and research.
Evidence of contribution to university service through active participation in Departmental
matters, students’ academic advising, and School and University meetings and committee
membership, among others.
f) Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory bodies where applicable.
