Tax Senior Associate

Key roles and responsibilities

Provide expert advice to clients on a wide range of tax matters.
Lead the preparation and review of accurate and timely tax returns for individuals and corporate entities.
Lead comprehensive tax health checks for clients, reviewing financial records and identifying areas of non-compliance or potential tax risks.
Work closely with clients to address inquiries, provide updates, and offer proactive solutions to potential tax challenges.
Assist clients in handling KRA audits, ensuring adherence to audit timelines and effectively addressing any queries raised by tax authorities.
Provide guidance to the team in the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
Analyze financial statements to identify potential tax issues or opportunities for tax efficiency.
Assist with drafting opinion letters, responses to Revenue Authority inquiries, Revenue Authority’s ruling requests and writing other technical memoranda.
Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax planning and compliance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including audit and advisory teams, to provide integrated solutions to clients.
Assist in developing and implementing tax planning strategies for clients.
Stay informed about changes in the business environment that may affect tax compliance or planning.
Ensure compliance with the Risk Management and KYC procedures for engagements.
Work with Associates and Managers to ensure smooth engagement administration and billing.
Build and manage client relationships.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and holistic client support.
Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their professional growth.
Assist in organizing trainings and other departmental activities within and outside the firm, etc. as maybe assigned.
Contribute to thought leadership through writing articles and participating in activities aimed at brand enhancement..

KPMG Tax Private Enterprise Associate

Key roles and responsibilities

Responding to client queries effectively, identify value-added opportunities.
Develop and maintain client relationships, stay updated on business trends, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Proactively assist the team on various aspects of engagements in the planning and implementation of project activities which include client interviews, data gathering, and coordination of KPMG and client resources as may be assigned.
Work with the sectors teams to drive targeted sector engagement across the firm.
Perform the necessary Risk Management and KYC procedures for engagements as requested by the senior(s)/management teams.
Demonstrate teamwork and leadership by taking on champion roles, teaching others, and seeking opportunities to learn.
Have the willingness to undertake business development activities, an ability to identify opportunities and build on internal and external networks.
Contribute to thought leadership through writing articles and participating in activities aimed at brand enhancement.

Tax Technology Associate and Senior Associate

Key roles and responsibilities

Work effectively with clients across multiple sectors and tax domain experts to develop and enhance tax technology solutions.
Ongoing improvement of our tax technology solutions.
Assist with data acquisition from disparate systems and in different formats including web, databases and excel.
Perform data analyses, generate, and test hypotheses using Machine Learning and statistical analysis methods to identify patterns and communicate findings via visualization tools.
Document technical procedures and best practices.
Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Stay up to date with tax regulations and technology trends.
