Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS

KRA 1: Research and Analysis

Drive and support the research and analysis efforts that inform FSD Africa’s gender approach ensuring alignment with the overall FSD Africa strategy:

  •  As requested by the Senior Specialist, Gender, conduct literature reviews/research and stay updated on global trends related to FSD Africa’s gender focus areas; compiling results into insightful reports and being prepared to present and discuss key findings
  •  Support the Senior Specialist, Gender, in conducting or managing market research and analysis to identify leverage points, risks and opportunities for gender focused interventions
  •  Support the maintenance of the Gender knowledge management database; extract data and information from the database as requested to inform decision-making
  •  Compile, synthesize and analyse data/information from various sources which contribute towards the development of annual issues paper from a gender lens

KRA 2: Planning & Strategy

Support the implementation of FSD Africa’s current Gender Strategic Framing and development of subsequent iterations:

  •  Support the Senior Specialist, Gender in the development of plans and strategies and the management of the Gender unit’s resources including the implementation of the GSF and annual Business Plans
  •  Provide technical input – or support in obtaining input – into strategic documentation such as business cases or annual business plans for the Gender unit
  •  Aid in the development of policies, tools and other resources which can facilitate the mainstreaming of gender and good practice at FSD Africa;
