Job Description
Position Overview.
The Nairobi Waldorf School Trust is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maternity Reliever Teacher to provide temporary cover for a teacher on maternity leave. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the principles of Waldorf education, be adaptable, and have the ability to maintain the continuity and quality of education during the period of the regular teacher’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
1.Teaching and Classroom Management:
- Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons in accordance with Waldorf educational principles.
- Maintain a well-organized and stimulating classroom environment.
- Foster a warm, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Implement the regular teacher’s lesson plans and adapt as necessary to meet the needs of students.
2. Student Support and Development:
- Observe and understand students’ individual learning needs and provide tailored support.
- Encourage and guide students in their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, providing feedback and support as needed.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
4. Employee Engagement and Development:
- With guidance, participate in initiatives to enhance employee morale and engagement.
- Support the coordination of professional development programs and staff training programs.
- Compile reports from the employee engagement activities.
- Conduct a training evaluation for all trainings undertaken.
5. Administrative Duties:.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom.
