About the job
- South B Hospital is seeking a qualified, experienced, and patient-focused Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our clinical team and provide high-quality musculoskeletal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with musculoskeletal injuries, disorders, and diseases.
- Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgical procedures in accordance with established clinical standards.
- Manage fractures, trauma cases, degenerative joint conditions, congenital deformities, and other orthopaedic conditions.
- Conduct outpatient consultations, inpatient ward rounds, and post-operative follow-up care.
- Collaborate with anaesthetists, theatre staff, physiotherapists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in emergency and on-call rosters as required.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Master of Medicine (MMed) in Orthopaedic Surgery or an equivalent postgraduate qualification recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Valid practicing licence from the KMPDC.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ post-specialization clinical experience in a busy hospital setting is preferred.
