esponsibilities

-Supports capacity development in countries for climate information services and early warning systems with a focus on strengthening hydro-meteorological observation systems supported by the Systematic Observations Financing Facility (SOFF). In this context, demonstrates timely delivery of project outputs in accordance with overall objectives and policies: -Provides substantive support to the implementation of activities at country level by working closely with implementing partners and national hydro-meteorological services. -Monitors country progress towards meeting the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Global Basic Observing Network (GBON) standards. -Identifies problems and issues to be addressed in project implementation and recommends approaches to address the problems and issues. – Participates in Project Steering Committees and mid-term and final evaluations. – Coordinates activities related to budget funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements ) and preparation of related documents/reports (work programme, programme budget). – Conducts risk management in project implementation and identifies solutions and risk mitigation measures. – Participates in project-related procurement and recruitment processes. – Organizes and prepares written outputs (e.g. progress reports, analysis, inputs to publications, communications materials). – Delivers presentations on climate information services and systematic observations. – Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars ; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities. – Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, to include proposing agenda topics, identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics. – Participates in monitoring missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials and other parties. – Coordinates activities related to annual work plan development and prepares related documents/reports (project implementation plans). – Contributes to the collection and analysis of data as well as identification of trends or patterns and provides draft insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. – Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
