Corporate Affairs and Business Performance Manager

Organization: Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS)

About MEDS: MEDS is a faith-based health solutions provider established in 1986 by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). MEDS’ core mandate is to provide reliable and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance, and Health Systems Strengthening Services. Serving clients across Kenya, other regions in Africa, and beyond.

Reporting To: Managing Director

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Corporate Image and Brand Management:
    • Design and implement strategies for achieving and maintaining a positive corporate image and brand.
    • Develop and disseminate stakeholders’ engagement protocols, building relationships for a positive organizational reputation.
  2. Corporate Governance and Strategy:
    • Coordinate corporate governance-related activities in the Managing Director’s Office.
    • Ensure effective implementation of the strategic plan across the organization.
  3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
    • Develop and deploy a framework for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the organization’s strategic plan.
    • Implement a performance framework for operational areas to ensure consistent execution of business processes.
  4. Operational Excellence and Communication:
    • Develop and implement best practice programs promoting an operational excellence culture.
    • Design, deploy, and evaluate corporate communication strategies, both internal and external.
    • Manage media relations strategy for positive coverage.
  5. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
    • Develop and implement Corporate Social Responsibility programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Industrial Relations, Communication Studies, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Operations or Strategic Management), Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body.
  • At least 7 years of leadership/management experience in a similar role.
  • Functional skills: Excellent planning, organizational, and negotiation skills, Data Analytics, Reporting skills (written and visual), Working knowledge in quality management techniques (Total Quality Management, Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma), Business Process Re-engineering.
