Job Description

a) Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:
(i) Aligning syllabuses to assessments;
(ii) Developing assessment regulations and guidelines;
(iii) Training and recruiting setters and moderators;
(iv) Preparation of assessment timetables;
(v) Coordinating development of assessment tools/papers;
(vi) Analyzing assessment test items/papers and prepare feedback reports;
(vii) Conducting performance appraisal of officers in the department;
(viii) Capacity building of teacher trainers in assessment;
(ix) Coordinating pre-testing of test items;
(x) Preparing and implementing approved departmental work plan, procurement plan,
and budget;
(xi) Coordinating validation of marking schemes during marking;
(xii) Developing and implementing effective risk management strategies;
(xiii) Chairing Course and awards Panel meetings;
(xiv) Ensuring security and confidentiality of all e x a m i n a t i o n /assessment materials;

Required skills

At least twelve (12) years cumulative relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have served Bachelors Degree in Education from a recognized institution OR Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institut Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution;
