Driver
Organization: Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA)
Location: Kenya
Job Purpose: The purpose of this job is to provide transport and logistic services in the Authority towards the realization of the Authority’s mandate.
Key Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks:
- Driving vehicles as authorized.
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling oil, electrical and brake systems, tire pressure, and reporting any defects.
- Detecting malfunctioning of the vehicle’s system and reporting any defects.
- Maintenance of properly authorized work tickets for vehicles assigned and surrendering as necessary.
- Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road.
- Overseeing the safety of the passengers and/or goods therein.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Ensuring adherence to or observations of traffic laws.
- Assisting in loading and unloading of goods.
- Planning transportation routes based on road and traffic conditions.
- Scheduling regular vehicle servicing to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Ensuring the company’s vehicle is only used for official/authorized business.
- Maintaining vehicle fuel cards and accounting for its usage.
- Reporting any incidents or accidents to the police and/or the office immediately they occur.
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience, and Attributes/Skills):
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement.
- Occupational Trade Test Grade III for drivers.
- Passed Suitability Test for drivers.
- First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.
