Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Plan and oversee all crop activities — from land preparation to harvest
  • Monitor crops and take action against pests, diseases, and weeds
  • Carry out soil testing and recommend the right fertilisers
  • Manage irrigation and ensure water is used efficiently
  • Supervise and guide farm workers on a daily basisKeep clear records of inputs, yields, and farm costs
  • Source seeds, fertilisers, and other inputs as needed
  • Advise management on crop choices and ways to improve productivity
  • Ensure the farm follows good agricultural and environmental practices
  • Liaise with suppliers, extension officers, and buyers when required

What We Are Looking For

  • A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field
  • At least 1–2 years of hands-on farm experience (solid internship experience is acceptable)
  • Good knowledge of crop production, soil health, and pest management
  • Familiarity with crops grown in the Kirinyaga region — maize, vegetables, rice, etc.
  • Ability to operate basic farm equipment and tools
  • Good record-keeping and communication skills
  • Comfortable leading and supervising a team of farm workers
  • Willing to live and work full-time on the farm
  • Honest, reliable, and hardworking
