Job Description:
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monthly management reporting, detailed financial analysis, risk classification, and operational reporting. Key responsibilities include providing financial metrics, raising red flags on critical issues, and recommending benchmarks for performance measurement. The Financial Analyst will also contribute to the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly management reporting with detailed analysis, comparing with Rolling Estimate, Annual Business Plan, and Previous Year.
- Analyze and classify risks, preparing operational and risk reports for management analysis.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring company operations’ performance.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Raise red flags on issues and escalate matters to Finance Managers.
- Provide needed financial analysis.
Requirements:
- Minimum academic qualification: CPA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent.
- Additional qualifications: MBA (advantageous).
- Professional registration: Yes.
Experience:
- General work experience (years): 8 years.
- Post-Qualification experience (years): Minimum 5 years.
Technical Competencies and Skills: The candidate should have hands-on experience in the following:
- Books of accounts.
- Reconciliations.
- Critical evaluation and monitoring of relevant accounting standards, regulations, and reporting frameworks.
- Preparation of financial statements and related reports.
- Budget, budgetary control, and forecasting.
- Product cost, cost allocation, and variance analysis.
- Business performance reporting, including board packs.
- Cash flow planning and forecasting.
- Effective decision-making through analyzing, evaluating, and communicating performance and position of entities, including ratio analysis.
- Directing organizational performance through the selection and measurement of financial and non-financial performance indicators.
Computer Literacy:
- Outstanding knowledge of spreadsheets and PowerPoint (Advanced Skills).
- ERP knowledge is mandatory, preference for SAP.
