Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out maintenance and repair of mechanical and automotive equipment
  • Inspecting machines and identifying mechanical faults or breakdowns
  • Assisting in installation, servicing, and testing of mechanical systems
  • Monitoring port equipment operations to ensure efficiency and safety
  • Preparing maintenance and technical reports
  • Supporting preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures
  • Coordinating with engineers and other technical staff during operations and repairs

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or its equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Registration as a Technician with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) for Diploma holders
  • ICT skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Knowledge of port operations and equipment
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in a reputable organization
