Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Carrying out maintenance and repair of mechanical and automotive equipment
- Inspecting machines and identifying mechanical faults or breakdowns
- Assisting in installation, servicing, and testing of mechanical systems
- Monitoring port equipment operations to ensure efficiency and safety
- Preparing maintenance and technical reports
- Supporting preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime
- Ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures
- Coordinating with engineers and other technical staff during operations and repairs
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or its equivalent from a recognized institution
- Registration as a Technician with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) for Diploma holders
- ICT skills
- Good report writing skills
- Knowledge of port operations and equipment
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in a reputable organization
