Job Description
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, journals, and supporting documentation.
- Perform daily bookkeeping activities, including recording transactions, managing expenses, and maintaining financial data accuracy.
- Reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, supplier accounts, and other financial records regularly.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial documents and records.
Finance Operations Management
- Manage daily finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment processing.
- Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor customer collections and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Prepare payment schedules and support cash flow management activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal finance procedures and approval processes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular financial reports, including expense reports, account summaries, and operational finance updates.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Provide accurate financial information to support business decision-making.
- Analyze financial data and highlight trends, variances, and areas requiring attention.
Tax, Compliance & Controls
- Support compliance with Kenyan tax regulations and statutory financial requirements.
- Assist with preparation of documentation required for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Maintain strong financial controls to minimize errors and ensure accountability.
- Ensure adherence to company finance policies and procedures.
Business & Team Support
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve finance-related queries and improve processes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide financial guidance to teams on expense management and financial procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within finance operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
The job holder should have the following qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping roles.
- Experience managing day-to-day finance operations within a growing organization.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory requirements is preferred.
