Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions for children with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate emotional, social, and psychological needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support for children.
  • Offer guidance and support to families and caregivers.
  • Formulate clients’ cases, maintain their records and ensure high levels of confidentiality on all the cases.
  • Gather suitable information about the target beneficiaries, their welfare, and share it with fellow staff members.
  • Prepare all counselling reports and present them to the immediate supervisor.
  • Prepare topics on different problematic areas and their accompanying psycho-social interventions for staff training.
  • Provide technical guidance on psycho-social interventions to fellow staff members and partners and set benchmarks that meet the Kenya government’s standards.
  • To facilitate the review of the child protection policy and enhance the implementation of best practices
  • Conduct home and field-visits to assess family situations and to develop appropriate responses.
  • Identify potential institutions that can handle referrals on psycho-social cases that are not compatible with the services of Koinonia Community.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor
