Site Project Manager – GCBC Project

Job Description

The Cherangani-based Site Project Manager will primarily focus on coordinating on-the-ground activities and engaging local stakeholders for upcoming consultations by leading researchers from Nature Kenya, Kenyatta University (KU), Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), Kenya Forest Service (KFS), and the National Museums of Kenya (NMK).

The Site Project Manager’s responsibilities include providing crucial field support to researchers for key outputs in forest ecology, biodiversity, climate, and human well-being. Expected deliverables encompass Ecosystem Services Assessment, Restoration Opportunity Assessment, Cherangani Forest Restoration Business Case, Ecosystem-based Adaptation Strategy, Participatory Forest Management Plans, and various knowledge products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management, Conservation, Biology, or Natural Resources Management.
  • Minimum five years of experience in implementing site projects.
  • Proven ability to mobilize effectively with demonstrated results.
  • Experience collaborating with senior county officials and local leaders.
  • Strong network, advocacy skills, and experience in grassroots workshop organization.
  • Clear and concise communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate, seek guidance, and achieve results through teamwork.
  • Passion and commitment to conservation, with a willingness to work beyond regular hours to meet targets.
