Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Efficient Facilitation: Facilitate University management and administrative programs effectively.
- Policy Interpretation: Interpret and implement government policies, circulars, regulations, and management decisions.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with legislations, statutes, policies, and guidelines.
- Committee Secretary: Serve as Secretary to University Executive Board, Staff Appointment, and staff disciplinary committees. Act as the Secretariat to University Council committee of Human Resource and Administration, and adhoc committees.
- Record Custodianship: Safeguard University official records following legislative, statutory, and policy guidelines.
- Event Coordination: Coordinate university-wide events, including training, protocol, and event management.
- Staff Welfare: Manage staff welfare, including Collective Bargaining Negotiations with staff unions.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor.
Qualifications for Appointment:
- Academic and Professional: Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in specified disciplines, Master’s degree or equivalent, and membership in a relevant professional body (if applicable).
- Experience and Skills: Twelve years of administrative experience, with three years at the Deputy Registrar level or equivalent. Proficient in administration and management, possessing skills in organization, communication, time management, and customer care. Computer literacy is required.
Salary and Benefits:
- Basic Salary: Kshs 209,694 – 283,087
- House Allowances: Kshs 73,715
- Other Allowances and Benefits: As outlined in the terms of service for respective job grades or determined by the Council.
