Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To maintain the college hostel in line with the highest quality and hygiene standards to ensure comfort of students at the college.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities are:

Supervise and conduct daily detailed inspection and cleanliness of dormitory rooms, dining, public areas, back of the dormitory and grounds.
Ensure compliance with the college’s standards of excellence, health/sanitation standards and regulations
Coordinate the necessary repairs with the hospital Maintenance department in timely fashion
Assist in monitoring and controlling housekeeping procedures
Assign cleaning and housekeeping duties to students and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness
Ensure all the dormitories are well equipped with the necessary equipment and appliances
Ensure the safety of the persons and property of all within the hostel by fairly applying institution regulations and providing sufficient information on use of appliances and equipment
Ensure that the student comply with occupational safety and health policy and observe the laid down Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure the student welfare is monitored which include checking college diet is balanced and well prepared among other responsibilities

Required skills

Diploma in Hospitality Management / Housekeeping from a recognized institution Minimum three (3) years relevant experience Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice
