Job Description

 PRINCIPAL MARKETING OFFICER, SEZA 4 REF: SEZA/HR/2023/12/3

a) Job Responsibilities

(i) Enforcing marketing policies, procedures, strategies, and programs;

(ii) Marketing and promoting special economic zones to potential developers, operators, and investors;

(iii) Advocating for the vision and mission/mandate of the Authority to stakeholders;

(iv) Creating advertising strategies for special economic zones targeting developers, operators, investors, and entrepreneurs;

(v) Coordinating the production of materials representing the Authority;

(vi) Managing the preparation and production of marketing and promotional material;

(vii) Developing, managing, and optimizing the Authority’s website;

(viii) Defining and managing the Authority’s brand;

(ix) Coordinating the production of materials representing the Authority;

(x) Conducting investor and market research.

b) Qualifications for the Role

To be eligible for this position, candidates must:

(i) Possess a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role in the public or private sector;

(ii) Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Economics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

(iii) Attain a Master’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Economics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

(iv) Complete a management course lasting no less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

(v) Be a member of a relevant professional body where applicable;

(vi) Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications;

(vii) Exhibit merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates will be expected to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the

Constitution by providing valid originals of the following documents;

  1. Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;2
  2. Clearance/Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  3. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority;
  4. Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  5. Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
