Job Description

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER II

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

An officer at this level will be responsible for the following:

  1. Implementing strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures, and manuals to safeguard the integrity of the procurement processes.
  2. Providing secretariat services to opening, evaluation, inspection and acceptance, negotiation, and disposal Committees in all procurement proceedings for ODPP’s value for money.
  3. Collecting, collating, and analyzing data from internal and external stakeholders and making appropriate recommendations.
  4. Receiving and taking charge of inventory, stores, and assets.
  5. Receiving the approved stores requisition and issuing stores based on first in first out (FIFO).
  6. Updating procurement records accordingly.
  7. Carrying out stock checking, stock verification, and undertaking quarterly/annual inventory stocktaking and reconciliation exercises.
  8. Monitoring the movement of stores.
  9. Preparing requisitions for stock replenishment.
  10. Safeguarding all goods in the stores.
  11. Reporting promptly to the Head of Procurement any break-in of the stores, leakages, theft, breakages of items, or any matter that may damage or lead to the loss of items.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT:

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration (Supplies Chain Option), Commerce, Accounts, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Law, or any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
  2. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
  3. Be a member of Kenya Institute of Supply Chain Management and have a practicing license.

    • Kshs. 7,500 (Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret, Thika, Kisii, Kitale, Malindi)
    • Ghs. 5,800 (Other Former Municipalities)
    • Kshs. 4,200 (Other Areas)
  2. Commuter Allowance:
