QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER
Job description
General Purpose:
Our client is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Officer responsible for implementing the Food Safety and Quality Management System. The role involves quality control, compliance management, sanitation control, market surveillance, supplier quality assurance, and training and lab management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Quality Control:
- Conduct material inspection, process monitoring, inventory monitoring, and finished product inspection.
- Ensure compliance with specifications.
- Record and verify quality records in real-time.
- Calibrate and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Conduct root cause analysis and document corrective actions for non-conforming material/process.
- Compliance Management:
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, customer, and third-party requirements.
- Participate in implementing and maintaining the food safety and quality management system (FSSC22000).
- Engage in internal and external audits, including monthly GMP audits.
- Strictly adhere to traceability requirements.
- Participate in implementing and maintaining TACCP & VACCP.
- Sanitation Control:
- Adhere to cleaning and sanitation programs, implementing 5s.
- Ensure timely cleaning with available detergents.
- Enforce strict compliance with personnel hygiene, inspecting and record-keeping.
- Assist in monthly pest control management.
- Market Surveillance:
- Inspect market outlets to maintain product quality.
- Receive and document market returns.
- Address customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and close gaps.
- Supplier Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all procured raw materials and services have documented specification sheets.
- Conduct supplier risk assessment, inspections, and audits.
- Lab Analysis:
- Understand lab processes and support internal and external lab analysis.
- OSHA Compliance:
- Support and adhere to OSH in the plant.
- Training:
- Develop training content and conduct quality training per the schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science/technology, Food Engineering, analytical chemistry, or related field.
- Possession of a food-related post-graduate qualification is beneficial.
- Minimum of 3 years of food industry experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of food processing.
- Full understanding of food standards (FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, etc.).
- Communication: Strong written, oral, and facilitation skills.
- Technical Capability: Working knowledge of sector-specific scientific techniques and standard industry lab equipment.
- Personal and Social Competence: High integrity, discretion, professionalism, strong work ethic, flexibility, and adaptability.
